A great way to sample and enjoy typically Romanian and Moldavian wines is to join a Wine Tasting in our pub. We are located very close to the city center of Bucharest and we are the wine bar that offers the cheapest tasting session.
Our usual wine selection covers white, rose and red wines but we can customize the experience and focus on a specific wine, winery, region.
Our standard price (entry level wines) is of 10 euro for 5 glasses of wine (125ml) and it lasts for about an our and half.
For this price we need a minimum of 5 people to join.
Romania is one of the world’s largest wine producers and sixth largest among European wine-producing countries. Recently, Romania has attracted many business people and wine buyers, due to the affordable prices of both vineyards and wines compared to other wine producing nations.
Romania and Moldova have some very typical grape varieties that are only grown here. For the white: Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Tămâioasă Românească, Grasă de Cotnari, Galbenă de Odobești. And for red wines: Băbească Neagră and Fetească Neagră.
What is Wine tasting?
Its the sensory examination and evaluation of wine. While the practice of wine tasting is as ancient as its production, a more formalized methodology has slowly become established from the 14th century onwards. Modern, professional wine tasters (such as sommeliers or buyers for retailers) use a constantly evolving specialized terminology which is used to describe the range of perceived flavors, aromas and general characteristics of a wine. More informal, recreational tasting may use similar terminology, usually involving a much less analytical process for a more general, personal appreciation.
